Effective April 1, 2019, OHIP+ will no longer provide drug coverage for individuals under the age of 25 who have access to private insurance. Therefore, prescription drug claims for children and youth 24 years of age and younger with private plan coverage will have to be submitted directly to their private plan. Click here for details!

Exclusions and Limitations

The policy does not provide benefits caused in whole or in part by, or resulting in whole or in part from, the following:

  • the insured member’s suicide or any attempt at suicide or intentionally self-inflicted injury or any attempt at intentionally self-inflicted injury; 
  • declared or undeclared war, or any act of declared or undeclared war;
  • the insured member’s commission of or attempt to commit a felony; 
  • the insured member’s voluntary participation in any riot or civil insurrection;
  • any illness specifically excluded from the definition of any critical illness.
