Effective April 1, 2019, OHIP+ will no longer provide drug coverage for individuals under the age of 25 who have access to private insurance. Dental Care Benefit

Reimbursement:

Provincial Fee Guide of employee’s home province for the year determined from time to time by the Trustees.

Percentage Payable:

Basic/ Preventative 100%

Endodontic/ Periodontal 80%

Oral Surgery 80%

Major Restorative 50%

Prosthodontics - Fixed 50% 

Prosthodontics - Removable 80%

Calendar Year Maximum for Basic and Major Procedures: 

Procedures combined $3,000 per individual 

Orthodontics: 50% - Lifetime maximum $2,000 (Dependents under age 21)

Limits:

1 complete examination every 36 months

1 full mouth x-ray every 36 months

1 recall or specific examination every 9 months

Bitewing x-rays every 9 months

8 units of scaling or root planning in 12 consecutive months   

8 units of occlusal equilibration per calendar year

Oral Hygiene Instruction once per calendar year under the age of 15

Denture Relines/Rebases/Repairs once every 24 months 

Study Casts once per calendar year

Bridges and Crowns must be 5 years old to be replaced
